As soon as the Golden State Warriors crushed the Cavs in the NBA finals, rumors of LeBron James leaving Cleveland started heating up. The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski gave credence to the rumors when he said this about LeBron contemplating leaving the Cavs for a team in L.A.
Not only is there no guarantee he’s coming back, I’m not sure there’s an expectation he’s re-signing there. I think they feel, I think within Cleveland and around the league, they feel that he’s very much in play to leave again and likely head out west to one of the two LA teams. The Lakers could very well be a target.
Well, yesterday The Undefeated’s Mike Wise was on the Freddie And Fitz show on ESPN radio and said LeBron has no desire to play for the Clippers.
“I got from a very good authority, a very good authority, that LeBron James will never be a Clipper.
“I can’t tell you who, but I’m going to tell you it’s somebody that knows, and LeBron James will never be a Clipper.
“I don’t know if that’s because he remembers what the Clippers used to be, or he just doesn’t want to put his lot in there, or he thinks Steve Ballmer is just too animated on the sideline.
“Whatever follicles Steve Ballmer has left—and he has more than me—they’re falling out right now. But he’s never going to be a Clipper.”
The Lakers have set themselves up perfectly for a huge 2018 summer which could bring in Paul George and LeBron James, to play along side with their 2nd pick in this years draft, Lonzo Ball. Throw in a talented Brandon Ingram, with the Lakers young core and LA becomes an instant contender.
