Ronda Rousey defended her UFC bantamweight title for the first time at UFC 157 inside the Honda Center, submitting Liz Carmouche via armbar in the first round. It was the first female fight in the near 20-year history of the UFC.
Rousey is now 7-0 with 7 first round armbars. Carmouche had Rousey in a choke early in the fight, but Rousey fought through it to do what she does every single freaking time for the win.
Rousey’s next opponent could emerge from the UFC’s second scheduled female bout between Miesha Tate (13-3) and Cat Zingano (7-0). That bout is set to take place in Las Vegas on April 13.
