Happy Fourth of July, everyone!

As always…I usually play a few different lineups so while I listed my plays at each position, I also threw in a few more alternatives at each position who I like as well. Feel free to mix and match and make this lineup your own (after all, it is YOUR lineup) and these dollar values are for FanDuel (since that’s what I play on), but these plays can still carryover to other sites.

Some guys to avoid today (because avoiding the wrong guys is just as important and picking the right guys):

  • Alex Gordon is 2-for-17 in his career against today’s starter, Ubaldo Jimenez.
  • Edwin Encarnacion is 2-for-16 in his career against today’s starter, Justin Verlander.
  • Jed Lowrie is 1-for-10 in his career against today’s starter, Travis Wood.

And here are a couple generic daily tips I like to use as a rule of thumb:

  • Avoid weather situations. You get a big, fat ZERO if your player’s game gets rained out, so avoid any iffy weather as much as possible.
  • Whenever possible, I like to use opposite matchups for my hitters (ie, a left-handed hitter against a right-handed pitcher or vice versa)
  • Playing the big prize pools gives you a chance to win big, but it also decreases your odds of winning. I generally like to play 50/50 leagues head-to-head matchups. It’s slower going to build your bankroll that way, but it’s much safer.

Lastly…if you haven’t signed up for FanDuel yet, you can do so here.

Hit me up at @Members411 if you have any questions about anything…good luck!

PS – I’ll try and update this as much as I can, but I’d suggest double-checking the “lineup” section at BaseballPress before the games start tonight. They update every team’s lineup for that night as soon as possible and it’s a GREAT tool for seeing if a player is getting an off-day (and they even have weather data!)
