76 Dead After Plane Transporting Brazilian Soccer Team Crashes, Chilling Footage From Inside Doomed Aircraft

A charter plane carrying the Brazilian soccer club Chapecoense de Brasil crashed outside Medellin, Colombia Monday night. As of this writing, authorities have confirmed 75 of the 81 people on board were killed.

Brazilian news outlet O Globo is reporting that the club’s goalkeeper Marcos Danilo Padilha, initially among the survivors, has died from his injuries. Two players, defender Alan Ruschel and goalkeeper Jakson Follman, are reported to have survived.

The members of a Brazilian soccer team posted a video on Instagram before their plane crashed in Colombia last night … showing the players laughing and smiling in their final moments.

Chapecoense is in Brazil’s Serie A, the top division. They were travelling to Medellin to play Colombian club Atletico Nacional in the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana final.
