The Chicago Blackhawks are doing everything they can to even their series against the St. Louis Blues in game 2 today. However, they might be without one of their best defenseman, as Brent Seabrook destroyed David Backes with this nasty check against the boards late in the 3rd period. The hit is borderline dirty, as Backes struggled mightily to stand after the shot. Seabrook received a five-minute major penalty and game misconduct the play.
It briefly gave St. Louis a 5-on-3, and put them on a power play for the remainder of regulation — which the Blues used to tie the game with 6.4 seconds left on a Vladimir Tarasenko goal.
The Blues would go onto to complete the improbable comeback and score in overtime to take the 2-0 series lead.
There’s a pretty sizable probability that Seabrook will be suspended for at least a game for that.
