Nelson Agholor is under investigation by Philadelphia police, according to the Philly Mag, in regard to rape allegations made by a dancer at a local strip club. According to the report, Agholor and two other unnamed Eagles players were at Cheerleaders, a Gentlemen’s Club located a short distance from the Eagles’ Novacare complex, yesterday afternoon following the final day of spring practice.
A 27-year-old woman employed by the club accused Agholor of raping her inside of the club, and according to Police Commissioner Richard Ross, “Our Special Victims Unit is actively running on the investigation.”
A source told Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News the situation was “a setup” and said he believes Agholor will be cleared of any crimes.
The Eagles organization acknowledged being aware of the accusation against Agholor, but declined further comment citing the legal nature of the case.
Philly selected Agholor with the No. 20 overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft out of USC, but he struggled as a rookie with just 23 receptions for 283 yards and one touchdown.
