Russell Westbrook is amazing. With .7 seconds left before halftime of the Thunder-Jazz game, Russell Westbrook passed the ball to himself of off Jazz guard Rodney Hood’s back and was able to hit the buzzer beater.
Westbrook apparently does this type of thing all the time or was simply nonplussed by his own actions.
“I’ve done that before,” Westbrook said. “I’ve done that in college. A lot of teams would do that, so I just read it and his back was to me, so I just threw it off him.”
Archaic scoring rules kept this from counting as an official assist. If you want to see that changed, write your congressman or something. Hardly seems fair.
