Last night, UFC president Dana White made an appearance on TNT’s ‘Inside The NBA’ and dropped a bomb when he announced that the UFC and Conor McGregor had reached an agreement on their side for a potential fight with Floyd Mayweather .
The McGregor side is done. I’m starting to work on the Mayweather side now,” White said. “I’m not saying the fight will happen. I got one side done, now I’m starting to work on the other. If we can come to a deal with [Al] Haymon and Mayweather, the fight’s gonna happen.”
After White went public with the announcement, McGregor himself confirmed that he had reached an agreement with the UFC to face Mayweather in a statement on his website, The MacLife.com.
“It is an honor to sign this record breaking deal alongside my partners Zuffa LLC, The Ultimate Fighting Championship and Paradigm Sports Management “The first, and most important part of this historic contract has now officially been signed off on. Congratulations to all parties involved. We now await Al Haymon and his boxer’s signature in the coming days.
Yes, congratulations to all parties involved. We have a one-sided agreement that even one of the people involved in admits doesn’t mean anything. However, now that the biggest obstacle has been cleared it’s up to Mayweather to decide when and where this fight happens.
