This afternoon Disney’s President and CEO, Bob Iger, unveiled the plans for a Star Wars section of Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California. It will be 14 acres, making for the “largest, single-themed land expansion ever,” according to the Disney CEO. There will be a Millennium Falcon ride! And a bar you can drink in with Jabba the Hutt!
This is every Star Wars-loving Bros wildest fantasy.
“These new lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World will transport guests to a whole new Star Wars planet, including an epic Star Wars adventure that puts you in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.”
I’m 31, married and have a 7-year old daughter who loves Disney and loves Star Wars. I mean, what kind of father would I be if I didn’t show here who Luke Skywalker and Yoda are. They both have yearly passes, but I think I’m about to get one myself now. Not just for family outings fighting the dark side of the force, but I’m also wanting to hit up my fellow nerd friends to do a Bro trip to Disney World or Disneyland when the Star Wars part of the park is done.
Construction at Disneyland in Cali starts in 2017. I can hardly contain my excitement.
