The Longhorns took it to the Sooners today, running over the nation’s No. 12 team 36-20 in the Red River Rivalry. Texas quarterback Case McCoy threw for two touchdowns and 190 yards, but took one of the nastiest hits in college football this year. Oklahoma’s Eric Striker hit Case McCoy as he was throwing, coming free on a blitz and absolutely destroyed McCoy. Striker hits McCoy so hard that McCoy actually flips over.
This was a personal foul, but was not ruled a targeting penalty. One could argue he went high with his hands hitting the helmet. But that would have been hard to distinguish in real time.
